United Way Day of Action

United Way Day of Action

Saturday, June 18, 2016, Connecting Point had a team of 6 people who worked from 9AM-noon at the Weld Food Bank as a part of the United Way Day of Action.

Team members were Ross Jordan, Dave Kallweit, Rick Turner, Scott & Mallory Warner and Sue Warner. We were all particularly fetching in our classy hair nets and plastic gloves!

The event was sponsored by United Way of Weld County, who provided breakfast burritos and free T-Shirts to all the volunteers. Throughout the community there were 220 volunteers with 20 projects representing 19 agencies, which amounts to over 650 volunteer hours produced that day.

The Connecting Point team “produced” a lot of energy and spirit, as we prepared cases and cases of lettuce to be given out to needy families. It was a “heady” experience! While we enjoyed our time at the Food Bank, we were all ready to “leaf” there when our work was done. Ha ha ha!

Thanks to everyone who volunteered their time. It’s great to give back to the community!
